Principal’s Message

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

Yet another school term has come to a successful end. Thanks to the much appreciated efforts of the Sirius College family.

It was wonderful to see our students in bright orange as they celebrated Harmony Day to promote respect, fairness and a sense of belonging for everyone regardless of their differences. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all staff and the parents who helped us for the day. I would like to take this opportunity to especially thank Mrs Eser Sozer, Mrs Esra Oz, and Ms Kader Akay for their great effort in organising the day.

Drop-off/pick-up zones

We can easily solve our problems just by obeying some rules and respecting each other. One issue that we require your cooperation on is morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. We urge parents to follow parking rules and use the drop-off/pick-up zones accordingly. We have noticed that a number of parents have been using these zones for longer than they are limited to, and have been socialising with friends whilst other parents are waiting for these areas to be cleared. Please be considerate of all other parents who need to drop-off or collect their child. From time to time, council rangers do come to monitor this zone. If you are caught disobeying parking rules, you are likely to receive a fine. Please remember, rules are put in place for a reason...in this case, it’s for the safety and welfare of all our children.

Expectations:

For the benefit of our students, all parents should ensure that their children are fully equipped for learning before they come to school each day. This means:

  1. They arrive at school on time, before 8:50 am.
  2. They are in correct uniform – all day, every day.
  3. They have all necessary books and equipment with them for each day.
  4. They do their homework every day.
  5. They read and write every day.

These are the basic expectations and they will be enforced rigidly at Sirius College. Please do ensure that your son/daughter adhere to these expectations every single school day.

I would like to take the opportunity to wish you and all my students and staff a wonderful, happy and safe holiday. Our new Term begins on Tuesday 17th April, 2018. Please note our school will be closed to students on Monday, 16th April, for staff training, an important part of our work that keeps us up to date with the latest educational developments.

We look forward to another Great Term!
